Specifications
The
capacitor is charged to ~1-2 kV from the
power supply, then discharged over a timescale of several hundred microseconds, resulting in a current of >1 kA pulses going into the coil, resulting in a 1-Tesla magnetic field that ramps up very rapidly. The cycle repeats at rates ranging from 1 Hz to 100 Hz, and in sequences of 1 to 1000 pulses.
